Church History
Good hope Baptist Church was organized in 1912. Since the beginning Good Hope has had 11 ministers to serve as Pastor with Rev. E.J. Tomlinson being the 12th and current pastor. In 1987 the Good Hope congregation entered a new sanctuary for worship. Through 100 plus years, God has blessed Good Hope with many souls who have come to Christ to be baptized. Some have also joined in membership by Christian experience. New and reorganized ministries have been instituted for the spiritual growth of this church. We are living out the visions of our fore fathers and are fully committed to the continuous growth concept planted in the minds of our present pastor, current leaders, and members.
Our Pastor
Rev. Eddie J. Tomlinson is the Senior Pastor of Good Hope Baptist Church. He has been preaching and teaching the word of God for 37 years. He accepted his calling in the ministry in 1980 and became Pastor in 1982. Pastor Tomlinson, his wife, Lady Stephanie and son Cornelius are dedicated to ministering to the need of people. He is truly inspired by the word of God to edify spiritually, mentally, physically, and financially the children of God with the Gospel in the Hope that we will be transformed into better Christians by the renewing of our minds.
